Position Summary

HOOKIPA is looking for an internationally minded reporting generalist to support the Group Accounting Team (m/f) in the financial reporting and filing processes required for a US listed company and in the administration and further development of internal control and SOX processes. This role will provide a great opportunity to understand HOOKIPA’s business across a variety of corporate functions and to gain experience in the entire range of public reporting requirements. We are looking for a diligent person who can handle confidential and sensitive information responsively and who has a strong compliance mindset and basic understanding of capital markets and international accounting rules. This Allrounder will assist in all annual and quarterly financial reporting processes and in designing, enhancing and improving HOOKIPA's control environment to ensure compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, and ethical standards applicable to a stock-listed company. The candidate supports the financial closing process and preparation of financial statements by maintaining checklists, collecting information, tracking long-term contracts, reviewing and preparing work papers and calculation files, and performing control processes. This position brings with it the potential to become responsible for planning, executing and managing the internal control and SOX process across a growing company and to get involved in evaluating the business processes, services and operations for adequacy and effectiveness of risk management, governance and internal controls.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support in the preparation, filing and audit of the quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Assist in and perform administrative tasks specifically related to the internal control processes, control design, and coordination of workflows (eg. information research, schedule coordination, etc.)
  • Monitor deadlines and reporting timetables, coordinate and track deliverables across various groups and departments
  • Participate in projects and cross-functional activities related to the further improvement of financial group accounting and reporting processes

Qualifications

  • Economic/commercial education (eg. HAK, HBLA) or BA / BSc degree with focus on finance and/or accounting
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in audit firms, group accounting or internal audit; experience in working on compliance or internal control issues is an advantage
  • Interest in stock markets and international mindset
  • Excellent time and deadline management skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and reprioritize quickly and efficiently
  • Stress-resistant and ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, process understanding
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfort and familiarity with handling confidential information
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English and German
  • Good command of MS Office; experience with ERP-systems advantageous
  • Willingness to learn and quickly adapt to new (IT) systems and tools

We are required by Austrian law to post a minimum salary. The minimum monthly gross salary for this position is EUR 2.837,-- based on fulltime (40 hours per week); depending on experience and qualification salary can be negotiated. In addition, we offer a performance-related bonus payment and participation in our stock option compensation program.
