Animal Technician for weekends/public holidays – Preclinical R&D Team (Part Time 10h/week) (m/f/d)

Position Summary

HOOKIPA’s Preclinical R&D Team is seeking an experienced, motivated Animal Technician to perform data acquisition and animal caretaking during weekends and statutory holidays with a marginal employment. In addition, a weekly alignment meeting (weekdays) will ensure exchange of crucial information and task distribution. You will join our team in a fast-paced drug development environment and contribute to a range of preclinical mouse models for human disease. Thereby, you will gain extensive experience in animal handling techniques, have the possibility to broaden your skills and make an important contribution to identify and characterize lead candidates and moving them into clinical development.

• Handling and restraint of laboratory mice
• Observe, monitor, and report health status of laboratory mice in accordance with HOOKIPA licenses and Austrian legislation with regards to the use of animals in scientific research
• Perform euthanasia of mice according to established standards
• Maintain documentation and records in accordance with HOOKIPA guidelines
• Work under supervision and independently

Qualifications

• MS Office skills
• Solid knowledge of animal welfare regulations
• Good skills in mouse handling
• Independent, efficient, and proactive
• Good communication skills in English are a plus

The minimum salary for this position on a marginal basis with 10 hours/week starts from EUR 450, - gross per month.
