Position Summary

HOOKIPA is looking for a committed Intellectual Property (IP) Manager, with experience in international patent prosecution to strengthen HOOKIPA´s IP department. The IP Manager will support the Executive Director Licensing & IP in prosecuting HOOKIPA´s existing intellectual property portfolio as well as identifying new inventions and drafting and filing patent applications to effectively protect the company’s intellectual property. The successful candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented and effective communicator with excellent time management skills and at least 2 years of relevant working experience.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support HOOKIPA’s patent drafting, filing and prosecution process
  • Conduct IP searches and analyses
  • Interact with external patent attorneys
  • Closely cooperate with internal R&D teams to identify patentable inventions
  • Educate and update R&D team on relevant IP matters
  • Manage employee invention notification and inventor remuneration process

Qualifications

  • M.Sc., B.Sc. or Dipl. Ing. (FH) in relevant field (e.g. microbiology, biotechnology, immunology)
  • Professional experience in international patent prosecution & intellectual property portfolio management
  • Experience in working with virological or immunological techniques preferred
  • Knowledge of European and US patent law with regards to pharma and biotechnology
  • Excellent time and deadline management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Comfort and familiarity with handling confidential information
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Valid EU working permit

We are required by Austrian law to post a minimum salary. The minimum monthly gross salary from EUR 3.264,- (Junior Manager) to EUR 3.857,- (Manager) based on fulltime (40 hours per week); depending on experience and qualification salary can be negotiated. In addition, we offer a performance-related bonus payment and participation in our stock option compensation program.
