Junior Manager - Virology (m/f)

Position Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Junior manager, with experience in molecular biology techniques, virology and immunology as well as in project and collaboration management to join our highly motivated and dedicated Virology team. The focus of this position is to support the generation & characterization of novel vaccine vector candidates by performing method optimization and to ensure the transfer of technology to external partners. The advertised position is laboratory and office based (~50:50).

Main Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the generation and characterization of viral vectors (BSL-2) using cell- and molecular biology-based techniques
  • Coordinating and executing GMP-relevant production and characterization of recombinant vaccine candidates
  • Being responsible for technology transfer and troubleshooting of activities performed at external research organizations
  • Keeping up-to-date project plans and timelines
  • Providing accurate records of all work processes and results in compliance with industrial documentation standards
  • Presenting data and project plans at internal meetings and at external meetings with collaborators
  • Maintaining pleasant condition of laboratory and equipment, take over responsibility for organizational and lab management tasks
  • Contributing to a friendly and productive work environment

Qualifications

  • MTA, BTA, Dipl. Ing. (FH), B.Sc. or M.Sc. in relevant field (e.g. Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Immunology)
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on laboratory experience (experience with immunological, virological or molecular biological and mammalian cell culture techniques
  • Minimum 2 years experience in project management in a biopharmaceutical environment (biotechnology industry is a plus)
  • Experience with Quality systems (e.g. GMP; GLP) is an advantage
  • Independent and proactive work style, detail-oriented, well-organized
  • Strong interpersonal skills, open-minded and communicative team-player
  • Able to motivate others and lead by example
  • Fluent in written and oral English and German

We are required by Austrian law to post a minimum salary. The minimum monthly gross salary is EUR 3.264,-- based on fulltime (40 hours per week); depending on experience and qualification salary can be negotiated. In addition, we offer a performance-related bonus payment and participation in our stock option compensation program.
